Now, Back to Business…

One of the things that has been the most fun over the past few months, has been coming up with fun date night ideas from the comfort of our home. Luckily for us, we have just moved and have wanted to stay in and enjoy our new place. I mentioned before that nights in are here to stay, so getting creative has been a must! I don’t know about you, but I’m still not feeling 100% comfortable with going out just yet. But, with how hectic our normal lives are, it has been great spending more quality time together and enjoying where we now live. So, I thought I would share my top 3 stay at home date night ideas!

The Romantic – Antipasti and Wine

Now, it may not be lounging around in the warmth of Italian evenings… but antipasti and wine is such a lovely date idea. You can sit around, grazing and drinking wine – what’s not to love?! The other great thing about this date night idea is it’s relatively fuss free; and you can make this as inexpensive as you want, or treat yourselves! We tend to spend a bit more on the bottle of wine when we want to make it more special. This is a great opportunity to head down to your local wine merchant and support small businesses. I think this makes a particularly great date night because it’s just you and your partner, chatting about life.

The Creative – A Cocktail Night

We bought a bartending kit so we could make delicious cocktails in the comfort of our own home. I have to say, one of the things I’ve missed a lot is going out for a really good drink. It’s such a fun way to spend an evening, and you can really get the creative juices flowing! If you want to keep this more affordable, then choose a spirit and base what drinks you’re going to make around it. To make this more of a treat, buy a few bar snacks you love and get the candles on to create that cocktail lounge feeling… in your own lounge! If you’re struggling for some cocktail ideas, I’ve got a few recipes for your own Happy Hour at Home… cheers!

The Home Cook – From the Heart to the Stomach

I absolutely LOVE to cook. A really fun date night is to cook together, you’re both helping to create a great meal to enjoy as a couple and it can be hilarious too. One of the best ways I’ve found to cook together is to make gyoza’s. They’re relatively easy to make, great for sharing and if you can’t decide on which filling to have – make a few so there’s a bit of a pot-luck situation too! Another dish that could do with a joint effort is Ravioli… a tiny bit more complicated though!
